LEAFLETING  Sat 6th November, Market Square 1pm onwards, outside Sainsbury’s Sidney Street from 2.30pm.

The Cambridge PSC has organised a number of events to coincide with the national Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) week of action. The campaign for the BDS is fast emerging as the required strategy to stop Israel’s apartheid policies against the Palestinian people. BDS is the civil society initiated answer to the failure of governments to hold Israel accountable for its actions. To mark the start of the week of action Cambridge PSC has organised a leafleting event, to raise awareness of the Palestine cause and show that individual consumers can show their opposition to Israel’s project by participating in a consumer boycott of Israeli goods and services.

Anyone is welcome and we are looking for participants! If you are interested please email pscinfo@campalsoc.org for more details.

First discussion group of Cambridge PSC
Tues 9th November, 7.30pm-9pm
Location: CB2 Cafe, Norfolk Street, Cambridge
To coincide with the national Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) week of action, the discussion group’s theme will be the boycott campaign.
Topics that are planned for discussion include:
-          The reasons for/against an Israeli boycott
-          The different types of boycott – academic, cultural, consumer sports – should all of these be implemented?
-          Is BDS effective and can we look at past examples (South Africa)?
-          The outcomes and implications of the BDS
The discussion is likely to be lively and stimulating. Anyone is welcome to attend and the event is free. If you are interested in attending could you please email pscinfo@campalsoc.org so we have a rough idea of numbers.
